Making Nikah's Wedding Photoshoot, a Fairytale
‘Nikah’ an Arabic word meaning wedding, in Muslim community the bride and groom is considered as husband and wife only after the Nikah ceremony is over. Most of the Muslim wedding is a three days celebration.
Pre-Wedding Rituals:
Salatul Ishtikara : This is more like a baby step in the marriage , when families of the future bride and groom have made the match finalized based on the religious special prayer conducted to get the blessing of the almighty (Allah) , this is a very intimate celebration. This prayer is conducted by the head or Imam from the nearby mosque to seek the blessing for the intended union of the future couple. Both the future bride and groom also attend this special prayer.
Imam Zamin : After the Ishtikara is over , on a very auspicious day the groom’s mother visits the bride’s home with sweets and gifts , along with gold or silver wrapped in silk clothes. As to show that she is going to be the daughter – in -law and going to the part of the family by teeing the coin warped silk cloth around the future bride wrist.
Mangni : Official engagement ceremony is referred to as the mangni , where families and friends gather to witness the happy movement of bride and groom exchanging rings. Sweet and gifts are exchanged between both the bride and groom families followed by a feast for the guest who attended the celebration.

Mehendi : Mehendi is nothing but putting henna design on the bride’s hand and is celebrated a day before the wedding , where female members of the bride’s family gather followed by dance and music. Recently professional henna artists are hired and along with the bride, female members of the bride’s family get their hand painted with henna.
Sechaq: In this pre-wedding ritual , members of the groom’s family carry the gift and sweets to the bride’s home along with the wedding dress the bride is supposed to wear during the time of the wedding.
