Nishkramana is the child’s first trip home after their birth , it’s usually conducted during the 3 or 4 month of the baby. Nishkramana is done in front of the priest , family , parents and friends. For this the baby is bathed and dressed with new clothes. Puja are held by the parent to invoke the panchabhoota (earth , water , space ,air and fire ) to bless the child. Worship is offered to sun and moon gods , by showing the child sun and moon gods. The main aim of this ceremony is to make the parent understand that they should allow the child to breathe in the open sky. The reason for showing the baby to the sun is to get a boon of vitality who is a life giver and moon for mood generation and feelings.
